The Miami Dolphins are hoping to sign Vonta Leach and head coach Joe Philbin wants the deal done by the end of the week, according to the Miami Herald.
Dolphins pursuing Vonta Leach
The Dolphins have made signing Vonta Leach a priority and want the deal done by the end of the week.

Leach was released last week by the Baltimore Ravens after the two sides couldn't agree to a restructured contract and soon after he visited Dolphins minicamp, but he left without having agreed to a deal with the team. Since then, several other teams have begun talking with Leach and his representatives. That includes his former team, the Houston Texans, and a return to Baltimore is still on the table, putting the pressure on the Dolphins to quickly make a deal.
Miami would like to add a proven fullback like Leach, after struggling in short yardage situations last year. The Dolphins currently only have one fullback on their roster, Jorvorskie Lane. They claimed Evan Rodriguez off of waivers last week, but he splits time between fullback and tight end, as does Charles Clay.
