Desmond Bishop narrows potential team list to 3

The inside linebacker has his decision down to three teams, including one that will enrage Packers fans.

Doug Pensinger

Former Green Bay Packers inside linebacker and current free agent Desmond Bishop has his list of potential teams with whom to sign down to three, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Bishop is trying to decide between the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs. Perhaps he is waiting for one of those teams to increase their offer, or maybe he's legitimately weighing all of his options and having a tough time with the process.

Bishop is a seven-year NFL veteran, playing his entire career with the Packers. He missed all of 2012 with a hamstring injury, but in the prior two seasons had 115 and 103 tackles, respectively. In 2011, he also racked up five sacks.

Minnesota is the only one out of the three potential landing spots that made the playoffs last season, and it would be an easy move considering the proximity to Green Bay.

The Giants are always a contender and are short at the linebacker position with last year's inside linebacker Michael Boley having moved on.

In the case of the Chiefs, they appear to be on the rebound following the hire of head coach Andy Reid and the addition of new talent throughout the team. One benefit for the Chiefs is they are the only team out of this trio that plays the 3-4 defense, which Bishop played in Green Bay.
