Nearly two weeks after releasing Vonta Leach, the Baltimore Ravens might be getting closer to re-signing their Pro Bowl fullback. Leach was scheduled to make $3 million in 2013, a bit too much for a team that was looking to shed salary after their Super Bowl victory and has seen a number of high-profile veterans leave during the offseason. The Ravens released Leach after being unable to reach a settlement on a lowered salary, but after visits to the Dolphins and Texans, the best offer might still be in Baltimore.

Baltimore released the veteran fullback after not being able to agree on an agreement to reduce his salary. But now the Ravens offer might be the best one on the table.

Baltimore is reportedly offering Leach $2 million with incentives. If those incentives include a bonus for a Pro Bowl appearance, Leach might be in luck. The 31-year-old fullback has gone to the last three Pro Bowls as a representative for the AFC.
Undrafted out of East Carolina in 2004, Leach spent the first two seasons of his career with the Packers before being released in 2006. He spent the next five seasons with the Houston Texans, making his first Pro Bowl in 2010 and then signing a three-year, $11 million contract with the Ravens. Despite his accolades, Leach was unable to officially make it to the third year of that deal, but his time in Baltimore might not be over.
OverTheCap.com currently estimates that the Ravens have roughly $6 million in cap space for next season. Is some of that going to be re-allocated to Leach? ESPN’s John Clayton thinks that his decision could come early this week.
