Percy Harvin impressed with fellow Seahawks receivers

Seattle opted to exchange their 2013 1st-round pick for a player that’s already proven his merit in the NFL. He thinks that his new teammates are also quite impressive.

The Seattle Seahawks are banking on Percy Harvin being healthy and productive, and also hopefully putting them over the top toward being real Super Bowl contenders. However, Harvin already sees plenty of talent not only on the team, but on his very unit -- Seattle could have as many as four above-average to very-good receivers this season. Harvin wasn't shy about giving praise to his new teammates when talking to Seahawks.com's Clare Farnsworth:

On Sidney Rice:

He’s known for making that big sideline catch and still getting two feet down. Or on that deep post, jumping over two guys to get the ball.

Rice and Harvin were teammates in Minnesota between 2009 and 2010. Rice enjoyed a career season in 2009, catching 83 passes for 1,312 yards as Harvin joined the fold as a rookie, adding in 790 receiving yards of his own.

Harvin on Golden Tate:

That’s ‘Showtime Tate.’ That name fits him very well. I can see exactly how he earned that nickname, because all his catches are by going between two guys or over two guys; just making a spectacular catch.

Tate is in the last year of his rookie contract and is coming off of career-highs in yards and catches, but will Seattle have enough money to spend on Tate with the expensive Rice and Harvin already under contract for 2014?

Harvin on Doug Baldwin:

Doug is more similar to me, in the fact that he’s very quick, very shifty, smaller. So he actually reminds me a lot of myself.

Baldwin may have the most to prove next season. The 2011 undrafted free agent out of Stanford led the team in yards as a rookie with 788, but dropped down to 29 catches for 366 yards last season. How his playing time is affected by the addition of Harvin has yet to be seen, but perhaps their similarities will help Baldwin learn how to use his capabilities to the best of abilities.

Either way, this could be a very fun season for quarterback Russell Wilson if all four of these players manage to play as well as they can. Or at least, as well as Harvin thinks they can.
