Bryce Brown’s dogs seized from facility in suspected fighting case

A pit bull and seven puppies owned by Bryce Brown were seized by police in a suspected dog fighting case. However, he has no ties to the alleged operation and is not involved in the investigation.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles running back Bryce Brown had several dogs seized from a facility in a suspected fighting operation in Wisconsin, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Brown himself is not tied to the alleged operation.

A pit bull, Eilis, and her seven puppies were removed from the breeding kennel Northland Pits on May 21. The kennel’s owner, Joseph A. Sudbrink, was arrested and charged with mistreating animals. A humane officer said she saw scarring on the dogs and believed they were part of a fighting organization. Several dogs also contracted ringworm and were living in substandard conditions.

Brown purchased Eilis as a pet in 2010. He sent her to Northland Pits to breed in February and offered to keep her there to whelp and wean the puppies since he knew little about caring for puppies. He did not appear in court and is not believed to be involved in the mistreatment of the animals.

Eilis has since been returned to him and is now under his care again. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
