Andy Levitre injury: Titans guard misses OTAs with knee problem

Andy Levitre was Tennessee’s prize free agent acquisition, but he’s still recovering from offseason knee surgery.

Tennessee's Andry Levitre has been limited in OTA practice recently as he continues to rehab from offseason knee surgery. The Titans guard sat out Friday's OTA practice, according to John Glennon of the Tennessean.

Levitre, who was the top guard on the free agent market, had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee early in the offseason. According to Glennon, Levitre has done some running during OTA practice and could participate in individual drills before Tennessee’s mini camp on June 18-20.

After signing him to a lucrative long-term deal, the Titans have to be at least somewhat concerned by Levitre’s absence, but the 26-year-old is confident the injury won’t linger into the season.

“(The recovery) is going a little bit slower than I thought, but I don’t think it’s anything I have to worry about,” Levitre said, via the Tennessean. “It kind of stinks not being able to get out there and actually do the new playbook, but I’ll definitely be good for training camp.”

A few missed OTA practices aren't likely to have a major impact on Levitre or the Titans' season, but getting him back sooner, rather than later would be beneficial. The Titans remade their offensive line this offseason with Levitre joining No. 10 pick Chance Warmack as new starters. The sooner the five projected starters are able to practice together and gain continuity, the better.
