Jared Cook is reuniting with head coach Jeff Fisher this season. The pair spent two seasons together with the Tennessee Titans, before Fisher and the Titans decided to part ways. Fisher didn't forget about the tight end he drafted in 2009, however, and as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams, he brought Cook in on a five-year contract this offseason.

Fisher told the Nashville Tennessean the Titans were “a little bit deficient” from a weapons standpoint last season, and targeted Cook as a potential difference maker.

“He’s obviously got years of experience under his belt, he understands the league, he understands defenses and he’s picked things up really well,” Fisher said. “We’re excited about creating mismatches, and offensive success these days is about creating mismatches.”

Cook struggled somewhat to get acclimated to the league as a blocker and consistent pass catcher. He has played better his last two seasons, however, catching 93 passes for 1,282 yards and seven touchdowns over that span. Last year, he had 44 receptions despite missing three games. Cook could become an even bigger part of the offense in St. Louis.

“He’s going to play all over the place,” Fisher said. “We’ve even got him in the backfield, so we’ve got some good things for him.”
