Eagles offensive line comes together for 1st time

Under Chip Kelly, the offensive front is coming together thanks to good health and a certain high draft pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles finally have their offensive line together and healthy, something that hasn't been said in what seems likes ions.

According to Philly.com, the Eagles were able to put their entire offensive front on the field during OTAs, including right tackle Lane Johnson, the No. 4 overall pick of Philadelphia in April's draft.

Last season, the line was a mess under Andy Reid for a variety of reasons. Everything began to go downhill when Jason Peters tore his Achilles tendon in the offseason, forcing him to miss the entire 2012 campaign. Peters is now back at full capacity, something Michael Vick should be very happy about.

Including Peters, four Eagles lineman are coming off surgeries. Center Jason Kelce needed his torn ACL repaired, and guard Evan Mathis and Todd Herremans had ankle and foot procedures.

Mathis was the only lineman to start all 16 games for Philadelphia last season.

Kelce is thrilled to have the band back together, per the article:

“It felt awesome,” said Kelce, who previously was limited through most of the spring. “I haven’t played football really against a defense in eight months. Not only that, but it felt good to have all the guys there that are projected to be there.”

Under a first-year head coach in Chip Kelly, a healthy offensive line would do wonders. Kelly likes to run a very fast-paced offensive system that relies on fast, agile lineman to work as a cohesive unit.

If Philadelphia’s line can jell over the summer, the NFC East will be an even tougher division.
