Ahmad Bradshaw was all set to become the newest member of the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, all he needed to do was work out a contract. Turns out that (surprise!) coming to an agreement with an NFL franchise is actually pretty difficult. According to reports Friday, Bradshaw and the Colts are still far apart on a deal, though negotiations aren't dead yet.

Friday was a busy day for NFL news. What you may have missed: contract talks stall between Ahmad Bradshaw and the Colts, Brett Favre takes blame for his rift with the Packers, the Ravens’ Super Bowl rings arrive and more.

Bradshaw is arguably the best available free agent on the market, and would be a nice fit in a pass-happy Colts offense thanks to his blocking and receiving skills. If the two sides are finally able to come to an agreement, either Delone Carter or Donald Brown could be released to make room.
Perhaps it was inevitable that Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers would eventually make nice. After all, the three-time MVP should have more good memories than bad in Green Bay. Still, it was refreshing Friday to hear Favre accept blame for his acrimonious split from the Packers in 2008.
“It’s over and done with. I was at fault,” Favre told WGR 550, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported. “I feel that both sides had a part in it. If you could go back would I or them have done things differently? I’m sure both sides would. But you can’t.”
No doubt the Packers would like to retire Favre’s No. 4 jersey for the success he brought the franchise throughout his 16 years with the team. Now they can honor the Hall of Famer with a clear conscience.

The Ravens have had a pretty good week. They also visited the White House as part of their ongoing celebration for beating the San Francisco 49ers in February.
Josh Gordon will sit out the first two games of the 2013 regular season, and will be docked pay for four games total for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. There has been no word on what the substance was, but it's worth noting that he got in trouble several times in college due to marijuana.
Gordon was a breakout star for the Cleveland Browns last season, finishing the year with 50 receptions for 805 yards and five touchdowns. He will be expected to improve on those numbers this season, even with the suspension. Fortunately for him, Gordon will still be allowed to participate in training camp and the Browns' preseason games.
The Seattle Seahawks were one of the most intriguing stories of the 2012 season, thanks to an upstart season led by a sensational Russell Wilson. Seattle would rather not give fans a close up look of the inner workings of the team, however. The Seahawks reportedly rebuffed HBO when approached to take part in the eighth season of their popular Hard Knocks series.
Hard Knocks featured the Miami Dolphins last season, and gave us several memorable moments, notably Chad Johnson's on-air release. While such moments make for great television, they don't necessarily put players and coaches in the best light.
Terrell Owens feels he can still be a productive player in the NFL. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be an organization that agrees. If Owens remained unsigned, the 39-year-old wideout told CBS Sports' Mike Freeman that he will retire:
“That’s just me being realistic,” he said. “I want to play again. I want to go out on top with a team. I think I can still play, but if I don’t sign with a team, it would be time to retire. I have to be honest with myself.”
Owens had a tumultuous career in the NFL, but he still managed to put up Hall of Fame-caliber numbers. His 1,078 receptions rank sixth all-time in the NFL, and his 15,934 yards are second behind only Jerry Rice.
Donte Stallworth will try out for the Washington Redskins during the team's minicamp next week. He played just one game for the New England Patriots last season, managing just one reception (albeit for 63 yards and a touchdown). He caught 22 passes for the Redskins in 2011.
Stallworth has been cleared for physical activity after a hot-air balloon accident in March briefly put his football career in jeopardy.
