Mark Sanchez calls butt video a lesson on life in ‘spotlight’

The Jets quarterback continues to have issues with butts.

Nick Laham

First, it was the infamous "butt-fumble." Now, it's just Mark Sanchez's butt.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the New York Jets quarterback is embarrassed about a viral video of him dropping his drawers and shaking it. Per the piece:

“Obviously the video’s a little embarrassing,” Sanchez said after workouts at his annual Jets West camp on Friday. “It’s just a good reminder that you’re in the spotlight… and be ever watchful and careful of who you’re with, what you’re doing. Whether it’s harmless, whether you’re in the privacy or your own setting and you feel like everything’s fine and you’re safe, you just got to be careful. That’s just a good example of that.”

If you’ve seen the video, it’s a sad story. Sure, he’s dancing with two beautiful women, but he’s doing it while being videotaped with his backside hanging out.

One would imagine the Jets would be mortified with this video, but then again it’s attention. No team in professional sports loves attention more than the Jets. If Sanchez starts this year behind center, maybe New York can put him in the shotgun permanently to avoid any contact with butts.

In all seriousness, this is not the kind of attention Sanchez needs with a heated quarterback battle ready to start in less than two weeks when training camp begins. The Jets didn't take Geno Smith to watch him sit on the bench for very long unless Sanchez forces it to happen with excellent play and leadership.

It’s going to be tough to lead with players laughing behind your back, and butt, all day long.
