Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman is facing a crucial season. His contract is up after 2013 and the Bucs have a rookie waiting in the wings. Freeman, however, is trying to not let any of that be a distraction as he prepares for training camp.

Josh Freeman’s Bucs career is at a crossroads in 2013, but he’s prepared to focus on the here and now as training camp nears.

Freeman told WWSB he’s focused on the present and simply trying to be the best player he can be. Via WWSB:
“I’m living in the present; focused on the now, being the best Josh Freeman I can be for this franchise; from a day-to-day standpoint, meeting with the coaches, watching extra film, working out, and being there for my teammates.”
The 25-year-old had another up-and-down season in 2012. With the help of new No. 1 receiver Vincent Jackson, Freeman eclipsed 4,000 yards for the first time in his career, but also threw 17 interceptions and fumbled the ball eight times while completing 54 percent of his passes.
The Bucs drafted Mike Glennon in the third round, who threw for 62 touchdowns and over 7,000 yards at N.C. State. Freeman has one more year to prove he can be the long-term answer in Tampa Bay.
