Michael Egnew has improved, but that may not be enough to keep him with the Miami Dolphins. As Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports, the Missouri product "faded late in the offseason program" and may not have impressed enough to earn a job.
Michael Egnew could be on Dolphins chopping block
The Dolphins may let Michael Egnew go as they begin to cut down their roster.

Egnew had a rough rookie season and was active for just two games in 2012. It was a massive disappointment for the third-round pick, who was expected to give the Dolphins’ passing attack a boost with his 6’5 frame and 4.62 40. He couldn’t do it, had even more problems blocking and found himself in street clothes for most of the season.
This offseason, Egnew has been better, and he has shown some flashes as a pass catcher, but his blocking still leaves plenty to be desired. Even if he is getting better, he may not be making strides quickly enough to keep a spot on the team.
Dustin Keller is the starting tight end in Miami and rookie Dion Sims has impressed since being drafted. With Kyle Miller also showing well and Charles Clay an option as a tight end/H-back, Egnew needs to not only improve, but show he can contribute this season. Otherwise, he'll be searching for another team.
