If the early indications prove to be true, Chance Warmack may not take long to prove he was worth the No. 10 pick in the NFL Draft. Warmack has only gone through minicamp and a few offseason workouts, but that has been enough to impress his coaching staff.

“He came in with a great attitude,” Titans’ offensive line coach Bruce Matthews said, via the Tennessean. “He knew he was going to have to work and he’s embraced it, so we’re very pleased with his development so far.”

Warmack often used his strength to overpower opponents in college, but has begun the transition to the NFL by focusing on the other parts of his game. Despite being drafted less than three months ago and having limited offseason workouts with coaches, Warmack has already improved his technique and footwork.

“It’s all a cerebral thing as far as where you have to be before your defender gets off the ball, and what angles you have to take and where your hands have to be at a certain point,” Warmack said, according to the Tennessean. “It’s a lot more thought before the actual snap. In college, I got away with a lot of things because of how athletic I was, but everyone’s athletic in the NFL, so you have to think a little bit more.”

Warmack’s quick development is a good sign for Tennessee as the former Alabama guard is expected to start at right guard for the Titans this season.
