Giants’ Will Hill suspended 4 games for substance abuse violation

Will Hill has been suspended four games by the NFL for the second time in just under a year.

USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants safety Will Hill has been suspended four games by the NFL for a substance abuse violation, according to Adam Caplan. This is his second four-game suspension in less than a year.

Hill is eligible to return after the Giants' September 29 game against the Chiefs and will be allowed to participate in practices and preseason games. Hill's first suspension came in October for using Adderall. In the 12 other games he appeared, the safety recorded 38 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Hill played at the University of Florida (college football fans might remember his unique social media life) before skipping his senior year in 2011. He went undrafted and played a year in the Arena Football League before the Giants signed him last spring.

Given his checkered past and the fact he will be forced to miss regular season games for the second year in a row, Hill may not be long for the team.
