Browns sign Barkevious Mingo

The Browns have their entire 2013 NFL Draft class in the fold after signing Barkevious Mingo.

USA TODAY Sports

Barkevious Mingo has signed with the Cleveland Browns to complete the team's draft class, the Browns announced Sunday morning. The deal is reportedly for four years, with a team option for a fifth season. Mingo is considered one of the premier pass rushers from the 2013 NFL Draft Class. He was selected No. 6 overall in April.

Mingo is expected to compete for a starting outside linebacker spot when the Browns open training camp on July 25. He may have a difficult time seeing a lot of immediate playing time behind Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard, however. At 6'4, 240 pounds, Mingo is undersized compared to the 270-pound Kruger and 255-pound Sheard. According to the Browns blog Dawgs By Nature, Mingo will likely be used as rotational player better suited for passing situations, for now.

By bringing Mingo into the fold, the Browns tied up their last remaining loose end before the start of camp. They signed San Diego State cornerback Leon McFadden earlier this offseason. The team drafted him in the third round after giving up their second-round pick to get Josh Gordon in the 2012 supplemental draft. The Browns also gave up fourth- and fifth-round picks to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts, respectively, for higher picks in the future.
