Von Miller may be suspended for the first four games of the 2013 NFL season for violating NFL policy, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday morning. The case is already in the appeals process. Miller will miss games against the Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles if the suspension is upheld.

Miller has emerged as one of the league's elite pass rushers in just two seasons in the NFL. He was discussed as an NFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate last season after 68 tackles, 18.5 sacks and six forced fumbles for the Denver Broncos during the regular season. The outside linebacker recorded at least one sack in all but four games last year.
If Miller sits, the Broncos will be without their top two pass rushers from last season. Defensive end Elvis Dumervil, who recorded 11 sacks last season, was released by the Broncos during the offseason following a bizarre fax machine mishap that occurred when Dumervil tried to send the organization his signed contract. Dumervil is now a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
