Robert Griffin III will be ready to participate in 7-on-7 drills when the Washington Redskins open their training camp in three days. The 2012 Rookie of the Year announced via Twitter today that he's been cleared to practice, and that head coach Mike Shanahan will slowly ease RGIII back into competition.

Griffin III tore his ACL just over six months ago, when the Redskins faced the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL playoffs' wild card round, January 6th. Shanahan was maligned for his handling of the rookie quarterback in the game, as critics chided the coach for leaving him in too long when Griffin III was noticeably in pain.
Today’s news means that RGIII should be ready for Washington’s September 9th season opener, provided he doesn’t have any setbacks.
While the Redskins will get back their Rookie of the Year, the Denver Broncos could be without 2011's, as news broke Monday that Miller could miss the first four games of the regular season. The NFL announced he was in violation of league policy, but have not released the reason for the planned suspension.
Miller is appealing the ruling. A later report from the Denver Post revealed that Miller failed a 2011 drug test, which saw the linebacker test positive for amphetamines and marijuana.
It's been a rough offseason for the Broncos' pass rush. John Fox's team will be without Elvis Dumervil, who's now in Baltimore following a fax machine mishap, and now there's the potential they'll be without Miller also.
Cleveland Browns' head coach Rob Chudzinski will have his No. 1 running back when the team starts their training camp this week, as 2012 first round pick Trent Richardson has recovered from a bevy of injuries during the offseason. Richardson only missed one game in 2012, but limped through the season with broken ribs, and a variety of other smaller injuries.
Richardson rushed for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns in his rookie year, but it took 267 carries to get there. The Browns will hope a healthy Richardson can take a much needed step forward in 2013, and improve on his 3.6 yards per carry -- which tied for 23rd among starting running backs.
Desperate for help at the wide receiver position, the New York Jets hosted veterans Austin Collie and Laurent Robinson on Monday.
Santonio Holmes was sidelined for much of the 2012 season with a Lisfranc injury that placed him on injured reserve, while rookie Stephen Hill was too inconsistent to be relied on regularly. The team turned to Jeremy Kerley out of necessity, but the 2011 fifth-round pick isn't seen as a long-term solution as a starting receiver.
Collie played in just one game in 2012, as he continues to deal with concussion issues, while Robinson was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars following a disappointing season that saw the receiver catch just 24 passes after being awarded a large contract by the organization.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is taking no risks with newly-extended quarterback Tony Romo, putting the 10-year veteran on what he calls a "pitch count" to limit any risks.
Romo underwent back surgery this offseason to remove a non-cancerous cyst, which forced the quarterback to miss the Cowboys' offseason activities and mini-camp. Despite the setbacks, it's expected Romo will be ready when the team open their 2013 regular season on September 8th against the New York Giants.
The Cowboys made a significant financial investment in the three-time Pro Bowler, awarding him a six-year, $108 million contract this offseason.
