Olsen has quickly engendered respect in the Charlotte community, as the tight end is a regular on local radio, and speaks openly about his love for North Carolina since arriving to the Panthers in 2011.
He’s also turned into a political advocate, as Olsen spoke to the North Carolina House of Representatives to argue for heart testing for unborn children, something that hit close to home as Olsen’s infant son T.J. required heart surgery the day he was born.
In an offseason filled with bad stories about NFL players and personal conduct issues, it’s nice to see one superstar getting noticed for the right reasons.
