New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes didn't shed any light on his status for the upcoming season when interviewed on Friday. Holmes, who is currently on the Jets' physically unable to perform list, is working his way back from a serious Lisfranc injury that he suffered in September of last year.
Santonio Holmes injury: Jets WR can’t say ‘right now’ if he will play in 2013
The wide receiver’s lengthy recovery from a severe Lisfranc injury doesn’t seem to be going as fast as he’d hoped.

“I can’t answer that question right now,” Holmes told reporters when asked if he’ll be able to play this season.
The left foot injury forced Holmes to miss the majority of last season and eventually required multiple surgeries. His Lisfranc fracture was diagnosed as a “Grade 4” injury -- the most severe of its kind.
Holmes is eligible to return from the PUP list at any point up until the seasons begins. If he’s still on it then, he’ll be required to sit out the first six games of the year.
