The Philadelphia Eagles have placed wide receiver Jeremy Maclin on injured reserve, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. This ends his season before it ever began. The Eagles re-signed receiver Nick Miller to take Maclin's spot on the roster.
Jeremy Maclin injury: Eagles WR placed on injured reserve
Jeremy Maclin’s season is over before it even began. The Eagles officially put him on injured reserve Tuesday.

Maclin tore his right ACL on Friday and had surgery on Tuesday. Entering a contract year, he was hoping to emerge as a major player in Chip Kelly's offense, but he will spend the season rehabbing his knee in time to regain market value in free agency next year. He recorded 69 receptions for 857 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
With Maclin out, the Eagles' battle for the No. 2 receiver position is wide open. Riley Cooper, Jason Avant and Damaris Johnson should all be in competition for the starting job. DeSean Jackson could take on an even bigger role in the offense, although he's recovering from an injury of his own, missing five games with broken ribs last year.
