Free-agent linebacker Nick Barnett visited with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport. It's the first time in several months he saw any interest on the free-agent market.

Barnett spent the past two seasons with the Buffalo Bills, recording 112 tackles, two sacks and three forced fumbles in 2012. Despite starting all 16 games two years in a row, the Bills released the 32-year-old in February for failing a physical. His free-agency hunt has been quiet with Rapoport saying he spent the past few months getting healthy. Barnett had previously spent eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers, making the second-team All-Pro squad in 2007.
The Redskins are in the market for defensive depth after losing Adam Carriker to injury and Jarvis Jenkins and Rob Jackson to suspensions. They recently pursued fellow free agent Joe Mays before he signed with the Houston Texans.
