Don't expect Tim Tebow to line up at tight end for the New England Patriots this season. The Pats seem to have a need for bodies with Rob Gronkowski still recovering from multiple surgeries and Aaron Hernandez embroiled in a murder investigation, but according to ESPN Boston, Tebow has too much to learn as a quarterback for New England to consider adding tight end duties.

The Patriots seem to have a big need at tight end at the moment, but Tim Tebow may have too much on his plate to make a position switch.

Tebow has heard opinions that he may be better suited for tight end throughout his NFL career, especially in the last year during which he was largely ignored on the bench of the New York Jets. At 6'3, 245 pounds, he has the frame and athleticism to potentially excel at the position. Tebow has yet to prove he has the blocking and receiving ability necessary for the position, however, and he has consistently maintained that he wants to play quarterback.
The Patriots also have other options they can plug in at tight end. The depth chart is deep, with Jake Ballard, Michael Hoomanawanui and Daniel Fells all having significant experience. Even if Tebow makes a full-time switch to tight end, he may still have trouble seeing the field. Asking him to be the team's third-string quarterback at the same time may simply be too much to ask.
