Denver has reportedly upped its offer to Ryan Clady. The offensive lineman would become one of the highest-paid left tackles in the NFL if he agrees to the current deal.

The Broncos and Clady’s representatives resumed contract negotiations recently as the deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign multi-year extensions looms just one week away. Klis’ report doesn’t have the specific details of Denver’s latest offer, but says the deal could make Clady the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league.
Philadelphia's Jason Peters currently owns the highest average salary for offensive linemen at $10.109 million, according to Spotrac. Cleveland's Joe Thomas is the only other offensive linemen with a contract averaging $10 million or more per season.
The 26-year-old Clady has developed into one of the best left tackles in the NFL since being selected in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft and was named to his second All-Pro team last season.
Clady suffered a shoulder injury last season and his recovery may have stalled contract negotiations, but Broncos V.P. of Football Operations John Elway recently said the the team doesn’t anticipate any problems with Clady’s shoulder.
If the two sides are unable to reach a deal by the July 15 deadline, Clady would play the season on a one-year deal before becoming a free agent next offseason.
