Tom Heckert, Denver’s director of pro personnel, is facing DUI charges after he was arrested on June 11, according to a report from Arnie Stapleton of the Associated Press. Stapleton’s report comes just three days after another Denver executive was arrested for alleged DUI.
Another Broncos executive arrested for DUI
Matt Russell isn’t the only Broncos executive facing a DUI charge, as Tom Heckert was arrested in June.

According to the report, Heckert was arrested in Parker, Colo., and charged with driving under the influence and careless driving. Heckert, the former Browns general manager, was hired as Denver's director of pro personnel on May 7. Matt Russell, who is the Broncos' director of player personnel, was arrested on Saturday and charged with driving under the influence and careless driving resulting in injury.
In a statement released on Monday, the Broncos said the organization was “extremely disappointed” with the incident involving Russell. The team has not released a statement relating to Heckert’s arrest, but according to the report from the AP, a team spokesman said the organization was aware of the incident and would provide comment shortly.
Like Russell, Heckert could face discipline from the Broncos and the NFL. The NFL’s personal conduct policy also applies to executives and penalties could include fines, suspensions or termination.
