LeSean McCoy on Riley Cooper: ‘I can’t respect a guy like that’

The fallout from Riley Cooper’s remarks may resonate for a while with his teammates.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles and the NFL have weighed in on the videotaped, racially insensitive remarks wide receiver Riley Cooper made this summer at a Kenny Chesney concert. A day later, his teammates are expressing their opinions on the matter, and some are finding it hard to overlook.

Running back LeSean McCoy told Albert Breer of the NFL Network that Cooper's words changed things for him.

Cooper apologized for his remarks on Wednesday afternoon, hours after the video went viral, with a series of tweets followed by a statement to the media after practice.

Elsewhere around the NFL, at least one player suggested that Cooper may experience some fallout for his remarks on the field from opponents.

The NFL declined to punish Cooper over the incident. Instead, the Eagles are handling the matter internally, including sending him to counseling.
