Culliver served as the 49ers' third cornerback last season, recording two interceptions, 47 tackles and 15 passes defended. The team has yet to reveal how bad his injury is, but for now it leaves the depth chart in a lurch. Carlos Rogers, Tarell Brown, Nnamdi Asomugha and Tramaine Brock are all fighting for playing time in the secondary.
Culliver's injury is just more bad news for San Francisco. Linebacker Patrick Willis fractured his hand in Wednesday's practice.
