Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger will forever be linked as part of the historic 2004 quarterback class, but the matchup extends far beyond the quarterbacks. The Giants and Steelers are both hoping to be improved in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The strengths that helped both teams win Super Bowl titles have needed makeovers in recent years.
How much depth have the Steelers and Giants accumulated? Saturday night’s preseason game may provide some indication.

Generally speaking, the home team is usually favored in NFL preseason games. Betting on preseason games is an exercise in futility, but for what it’s worth, the Steelers are favored in this one.
Pittsburgh's backup quarterbacks are an experienced bunch given Roethlisberger's injury troubles, while the Giants will be relying on Ryan Nassib once Manning exits the game. That doesn't necessarily indicate a significant edge, but every little thing counts in the preseason.
