Oakland Raiders rookie Sio Moore is listed as an outside linebacker on the depth chart, but the team plans on using him in more versatile ways. Moore made his preseason debut against the Dallas Cowboys on Friday, lining up with his hand in the dirt on passing downs and sacking Tony Romo on the second play of the game.
Sio Moore getting expanded role with Raiders
The Raiders aren’t comparing rookie Sio Moore to Von Miller, but they plan on using him the same way Denver uses Miller.

Moore's usage was similar to that of Denver Broncos star Von Miller, but head coach Dennis Allen was quick to dismiss the comparison. He does plan on using Moore in similar ways, though, according to comments in the San Francisco Chronicle:
“That’s something I see him being able to do. ... I don’t know if I see him doing it 70 snaps a game,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. “I am not comparing him to Von Miller, who I had in Denver, but we did the same thing with him. He can potentially serve that role.”
The Raiders drafted Moore in the third round of the NFL Draft out of Connecticut. He recorded 72 tackles, eight sacks and 11 passes defended in his senior year with the Huskies.
