Trent Richardson returned to team drills during practice on Sunday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.
Trent Richardson injury: Browns RB returns to practice
The Browns have a plan to get Richardson ready for the season opener.

Richardson has been dealing with a shin injury but got some reps in during 11-on-11 drills at Browns practice. He's still coming along slowly, but coach Rob Chudzinski was excited to have him at practice. However, Chudzinski would not commit to playing Richardson in the team's next preseason game, saying that the team has a plan in place to get the star running back ready for the season opener.
Last offseason, Richardson had knee surgery and he continued to battle through injuries throughout the regular season. His talent level is undeniable, but the injuries have piled up early in his career.
Having him back at practice is a good sign for the Browns, who will need a healthy Richardson to have a chance in a tough AFC North.
