New Orleans Saints sign Patrick Crayton
The Saints signed Patrick Crayton on Monday to help an ailing depth chart at wide receiver.

The Saints recently lost Joe Morgan to a torn ACL for the season, creating a need for depth. Behind Marques Colston and Lance Moore, the Saints have Nick Toon, rookie Kenny Stills and veteran Steve Breaston lined up for playing time. Though Crayton's numbers declined steadily through the 2011 season, he has a chance to stand out among an unestablished, or also-aging, group of wideouts.
Crayton has worked with head coach Sean Payton in the past. He was a receiver and punt returner for the Dallas Cowboys in 2004 and 2005 while Payton was the offensive coordinator for the team. Crayton's best season came in 2007 when he caught 50 passes in 15 games for 697 yards and seven touchdowns.
