Denver Broncos director of pro personnel Tom Heckert will return to the organization Thursday from suspension for a DUI arrest, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Heckert was suspended one month without pay in the aftermath of his June 11 arrest.
Tom Heckert will return to Broncos on Thursday
Broncos executive Tom Heckert will return to the organization Thursday coming off a one-month suspension for his DUI arrest last June.
Heckert’s brush with the law came to light almost a month after his arrest, thanks to the DUI and careless driving arrest of another Broncos exec, director of player personnel Matt Russell. Both men earned suspensions, though Russell’s return date has yet to be determined. Heckert registered a blood alcohol level of .162 when he was arrested, twice the legal limit. Russell hit a .246 BAC, which is over three times the legal limit of .08.
The Broncos will be heading to the Northwest to play the Seattle Seahawks in their second game of the preseason on Saturday. There is no word yet whether Heckert is expected to join the team for the trip.
