Kevin Kolb injury: Bills QB ready to return to practice

The quarterback competition is back in full swing at Bills camp with Kolb’s presence.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb is fighting through his injured knee, returning to the practice field for the first time since becoming injured over a week ago, according to John Wawrow.

On August 3, Kolb slipped on a wet mat during practice and injured himself in one of the more odd moments this offseason. After missing a full week and the preseason opener, the former University of Houston quarterback decided the time is now to get back into the fray. Per the piece:

“They said, ‘We’re going to ease you in.’ And I said, ‘No you’re not. I want you to put me in,”’ Kolb said. “I wasn’t going to waste another day. I wanted to get out there.”

Kolb came to the Bills this offseason with the hopes of becoming the starter after things flamed out with the Arizona Cardinals. However, Buffalo took quarterback E.J. Manuel in the first round and gave Kolb serious competition immediately.

Last year with the Cardinals, Kolb played in six games, throwing for 1,109 yards and eight touchdowns against only three interceptions. He was released in March by Arizona to avoid paying a $2 million roster bonus.
