A.J. Green injury: Bengals WR returns to practice

A.J. Green returned to practice Wednesday after missing two weeks of training camp with a knee injury.

Andy Lyons

A.J. Green returned to training camp for the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports. Green has missed almost all of training camp so far since suffering a minor knee injury on the first day of camp. The wideout only participated in individual drills Wednesday, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Green's health status for the 2013 regular season does not appear to be in any jeopardy. The Bengals have handled him cautiously, which isn't surprising given his place as one of the best receivers in the NFL. There is no word yet whether the Bengals will activate Green for their preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, though given the short turnaround to game time, fans may be optimistic to expect Green to make an appearance.

Green finished 10th in the NFL last season with 1,350 yards on 97 receptions. His 11 touchdown catches tied Rob Gronkowski and Brandon Marshall for the fourth-most during the regular season. Behind Green, Mohamed Sanu, Marvin Jones, Brandon Tate and Andrew Hawkins are currently competing at receiver for Cincinnati.
