Tom Brady leaves Patriots practice with possible knee injury

Tom Brady has apparently hurt his knee and left practice early. Ryan Mallett is taking the rest of the reps with the first team.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady left practice early on Wednesday with a possible knee injury, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Brady reportedly went down after an incomplete pass to Aaron Dobson on a sideline route. He did not appear to take a hit during the play. Brady limped off the field for one play, then tried to come back in, but was clearly favoring his left knee.

After consulting with coach Bill Belichick, Brady left the field with a trainer. He was able to walk off under his own power. Ryan Mallett came in to finish reps with the first team.

Brady tore his ACL in his left knee during the first game of the 2008 season, costing him the rest of the year. This injury news doesn’t sound nearly as serious, but Brady was concerned enough to leave practice and have trainers take a closer look.
