Tom Brady sent a scare through New England on Wednesday afternoon.

Tom Szczerbowski

The NFL world held its collective breath when word got out that Tom Brady had hit the field, clutching his knee at Patriots practice on Wednesday. Brady was taken away in a helicopter, and it didn't take long for video of the injury to spread across the Internet.

New England has yet to give definitive word on Brady’s injury, but the panic has already spread. For a team that will already be without every major contributor to their receiving core from 2012, the Patriots cannot afford to lose Brady. The entire landscape of the conference is hinging on an injury update. For now, it appears the injury is not serious.

Some other NFL news happened on Wednesday as well. Here's what you may have missed.

Miller is set to begin serving a four-game suspension for a violation of league policy when the regular season gets underway.
