Patriots QB Tom Brady expects to play vs. Bucs, per report

The three-time Super Bowl champ should be ready to go in Friday’s preseason game.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady expects to suit up and to be ready to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday night in the team's second preseason game, according to NFL.com's Albert Breer.

The team and its fans had a major scare on Wednesday when Brady was hit into by left tackle Nate Solder during a drill. Brady went down and held his left knee before finally getting up and taking a few more snaps before exiting practice for good.

Brady underwent an MRI Wednesday on the knee which came back with all good news, showing no structural damage. Of course, Brady has a history with knee injuries.

In 2008, Bernard Pollard, then of the Kansas City Chiefs, hit Brady low and tore his ACL during the season opener. Brady would go on to miss the entire campaign and watch Matt Cassel lead New England to an 11-5 mark but miss the postseason.
