Brandon Weeden lighting up the Lions

Brandon Weeden is off to a fast start Thursday with two touchdown passes in the first half against the Lions.

Brandon Weeden didn't get much love as a 28-year-old rookie last season with Cleveland Browns, but he's off to an incredible start Thursday night against the Detroit Lions.

Midway through the second quarter, he is 8-for-12 passing for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He's even managed to outshine Matthew Stafford, who is 10-for-14 for 70 yards.

Both of Weeden's touchdown passes went to tight end Jordan Cameron, who has caught three passes for 42 yards on the night. Dawgs by Nature considers tight end play one of the key story lines for Thursday's game, and so far Cameron looks like he could be a valuable player this season.

Weeden's favorite target has been Josh Gordon, who now has three receptions for 72 yards receiving off four targets. Weeden is also getting plenty of help from his running game. Trent Richardson has 33 yard rushing on just six carries, and Dion Lewis has pitched in 29 yards on just four carries.
