Barkevious Mingo was forced to spend the night in the hospital with a bruised lung following the Cleveland Browns' preseason win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night. Barkevious Mingo injury: Browns LB expected to miss 1 week with bruised lung
Barkevious Mingo will miss approximately one week after suffering a bruised lung during the Browns’ preseason win over the Lions on Thursday.

Mingo will reportedly be out of the hospital by noon Friday. That’s good news given the potentially serious complications that can result from an injury to a necessary organ. The Browns initially said that Mingo had a rib injury, but head coach Rob Chudzinski announced after the game that Mingo suffered a bruised lung and would be held overnight. Chudzinski added that he did not know how Mingo got hurt.
Mingo was selected by the Browns with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the final piece added in the team's concerted effort to upgrade the pass rush in the offseason. The team also signed outside linebacker Paul Kruger and defensive end Desmond Bryant away from the Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders, respectively.
