Brian Orakpo was held out of the final practice of Washington Redskins training camp Friday while dealing with a thigh injury, the Washington Post's Mike Jones reports. Orakpo sustained a thigh bruise while defending a running play during practice Thursday.
Redskins’ Brian Orakpo day-to-day with thigh injury
Redskins outside linebacker Brian Orakpo was held out practice Friday with a thigh bruise, putting his status for Monday night’s bout against the Steelers in jeopardy.

The outside linebacker apparently isn’t too concerned, however, telling Jones that he’s “good.”
“I’m good. I’m real good. Just stuff, you get nicked up in camp, so just precaution. You’ve got to be smart,” Orakpo said. “I’m not sure what the staff wants, but we’ll figure it out. It’s a day-to-day process with this. I had a knee to the quad, so once it calms down, we’ll see where we’re at.”
Orakpo's status for Monday night's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is in question, but head coach Mike Shanahan said that Orakpo has yet to be ruled out for the game.
Orakpo missed most of the 2012 season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Week 2. He has been a participant in workouts throughout the Redskins’ offseason, however, beginning with OTAs.
Orakpo said in June that he is hoping to contend for NFL Comeback Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors this season.
