The Atlanta Falcons have big plans for Osi Umenyiora, an offseason free agent acquisition. There's nothing about an official position change, but Osi sure did hint at something with this tweet, asking for input on a new number.
Help Osi Umenyiora find a new number
The Falcons is switching numbers, and he needs your help.

Goodbye no.90. I will be changing my number this week. I want a number in the 50's. any suggestions people???

Umenyiora’s been rushing the passer as a defensive end, officially, through his career, hence the No. 90. But uniform numbers in the 50s are for linebackers in the NFL.
If you’ve been watching the Falcons through camp and the preseason, it’s not a big surprise. Umeniyora has done most of his work standing up. His hands have barely touched the dirt at all. Defensive coordinator Mike Nolan uses a hybrid (buzzword alert) system with multiple fronts.
Back to this number thing. He’s only got 10 choices. Right now, eight of those numbers are claimed. Osi could latch onto 57 or 58, both are available, or wait for the inevitable roster cuts when Atlanta trims the roster down to 53-players on Aug. 31.
So, help Osi out here. What number should he choose?
