Buccaneers vs. Patriots results: Tom Brady in top form in New England’s 25-21 victory

The Patriots had a ton of success throwing the ball on Friday against the Buccaneers. It all started with Tom Brady, who showed no ill effects from a knee injury suffered in practice earlier in the week.

If his performance on Friday was any indication, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's knee is perfectly fine.

Brady completed 11-of-12 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown and the Patriots defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 25-21, in NFL preseason action at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.

Danny Amendola was a frequent target for Brady while the star signal-caller was on the field. The duo hooked up six times, including a 26-yard scoring play on the Patriots' opening drive. Brady went on to complete his first 11 attempts.

Ryan Mallett was successful in relief of Brady, going 12-of-20 for 137 yards and a score. He found Zach Sudfeld for a 22-yard scoring strike to give the Patriots an 18-7 first-half lead.

Buccaneers starting quarterback Josh Freeman appeared in just one series, completing 2-of-3 passes for eight yards. Mike Glennon, the Bucs' third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, went 12-of-22 for 121 yards and tossed a pair of touchdown passes.

Tampa Bay was dealt an early blow when running back Doug Martin left the game after taking a knee to the head.

Tim Tebow got some action for the Patriots, completing 1-of-7 passes and throwing an interception. Tebow also ran six times for 30 yards.
