The Cincinnati Bengals bested the Tennessee Titans in preseason action on Saturday, winning 27-19. Cincinnati put together a complete effort, but it was the 193 rushing yards the team put up that helped them to victory.
Titans vs. Bengals final score: Running game leads Cincinnati to 27-19 victory
A strong rushing game led by Dan Herron and Giovani Benard lifted the Bengals.

Running backs Dan Herron and Giovani Bernard combined for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Herron carried the ball nine times for 81 yards, with a long of 40.
Ryan Fitzpatrick played well in relief of Jake Locker, completing 9 of 13 passes for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns, putting the Titans back into the game briefly. It wasn't enough to give them a win, but given that Locker himself only completed 12 of his 20 pass attempts for 116 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions, it was a good effort from Fitzpatrick.
Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton looked as good as advertised. He completed 9 of 14 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. His backup, John Skelton, completed just 5 of 10 passes for 59 yards before giving way to Josh Johnson.
Did they cover?
The Bengals opened as 3.5-point favorites, but the line moved down to 1-to-2.5 points on most books as the week progressed. Either way, they covered.
What’s next?
The Titans will return home to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 24. Cincinnati will hit the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys on the same day.
