The Houston Texans beat the Miami Dolphins, 24-17, in a Saturday preseason game marred by a major injury.
Dolphins vs. Texans 2013: Blogger reactions to preseason game
The Texans won their second preseason game, but the Dolphins are worried about a potentially severe injury to Dustin Keller. Our local bloggers react to the game.

Texans blog Battle Red Blog was pleased with the team's performance, while showing concern for Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller, who suffered a gruesome knee injury and may be done for the season:
There is a lot to digest over the course of the coming week, but overall my first impression of tonight's performances were favorable. At the very least I am pleased to see the Texans come out of this one with no major injuries. I wish I could say the same for Dustin Keller, who unfortunately incurred a terrifyingly brutal knee injury on a hit delivered by D.J. Swearinger.
Kevin Nogle of The Phinsider had some positive things to say about the game despite the loss, but Keller's injury loomed over everything else. Keller was developing some solid chemistry with Ryan Tannehill in training camp, and his loss throws the entire depth chart into disarray:
The game was actually not that bad for the Dolphins, despite the loss. Tannehill finished the game 10-for-15 for 141 yards and a touchdown, giving him a 119.0 passer rating. Two of his five incompletions were drops, one by Lamar Miller and one from Brian Hartline, which would have been a second touchdown pass. Overall, Tannehill had a really nice game, and, while nothing was spectacular, nothing was bad either.
Before the Keller injury, the story of the game for the Dolphins would have been the connections between Tannehill and Mike Wallace, the wide receiver who Miami signed in free agency this year. Wallace had three receptions on the day, a 16 yarder for a first down, a 33 yard gain as Wallace flashed his speed and got behind the defense, and a nine-yard connection in the endzone.
With the Keller injury, the chemistry between Tannehill and Wallace just became even more critical.
