Kendall Wright injury: Titans WR has knee sprain, no tear

Kendall Wright got some good news on Sunday, when an MRI revealed no ligament tears in his knee. He will be out for the rest of preseason, though.

USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright has a sprained knee that will keep him out of the rest of preseason, but ESPN's Adam Schefter says that an MRI revealed no torn ACL.

Wright suffered the injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was carted off the field and later admitted that he was "pretty worried" about his knee, so this news must surely come as a relief. He should be ready to play in a couple weeks when the regular season begins.

A first-round pick out of Baylor in 2012, Wright had 64 catches for 626 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie year. He's expected to be the No. 3 receiver behind Kenny Britt and Nate Washington this season. Rookie Justin Hunter should see more playing time in the final two preseason games while Wright is sidelined.
