New York Jets linebacker Quinton Coples suffered an ankle injury during Saturday night's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team announced on Sunday that he will undergo a medical procedure on Tuesday, miss the rest of the preseason and is out indefinitely as a result.
Quinton Coples injury: Jets LB to have ankle surgery, out indefinitely
Coples will miss the remainder of the preseason.

Coples, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2012 draft, was initially expected to be out three to four weeks, according to reports. Now it appears that timetable could be extended, depending on the details of the procedure, which weren’t revealed by the team.
As a rookie, Coples had 5.5 sacks and 30 total tackles. He finished the season strong with 3.5 sacks in the Jets’ final four games. This injury could stall the momentum of one of the key pieces to New York’s front seven.
