The New York Giants suffered a bevy of injuries on Sunday night in their 20-12 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium, including a sprained MCL for center Davis Baas, according to Ohm Youngmisuk. The timetable for his return hasn't been announced yet.
David Baas injury: Giants center has sprained MCL
New York’s big man in the middle has to rest with a hurting knee.
New York also saw injuries to wide receiver Victor Cruz and defensive end Justin Tuck. Cruz ended his night early after suffering a bruised heel while Tuck has a hamstring strain, per Big Blue View. Ed Valentine also went on to say coach Tom Coughlin wasn't providing much insight after the game:
Coughlin said he had “no more information” on Baas. The veteran center had multiple surgeries in the offseason, so any new injury is discouraging.
The Giants can't afford many more players on the shelf with so many already trying to recover or stay healthy from a recent ailment. Defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul is at least out for the remainder of the preseason while he recovers from back surgery. Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks just came back from a groin issue, making his debut on Sunday.
New York's next preseason game is on Saturday against the New York Jets.
