Buffalo Bills linebacker Nigel Bradham was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in Tonawanda, N.Y., on Saturday, according to the Tonawanda News.

The Buffalo Bills’ linebacker finds himself in trouble following a traffic stop.

Bradham was initially stopped for a window tint violation, but was asked about his possession of drugs when an odor of marijuana allegedly came from the vehicle. According to the officer’s statement, he asked Bradham if he was in the possession of any drugs, which was initially denied, before the second-year linebacker removed a baggie from his glove compartment and handed it to police.
Coming off a rookie season where he amassed 57 tackles, Bradham was expected to start at right inside linebacker for the Bills in 2013. He has had an impressive preseason so far, registering six tackles against the Minnesota Vikings.
There has not been an official statement from the Buffalo Bills outside of saying they’re in the process of gathering information. According to league rules Bradham could be suspended for up to four games, but the final punishment will be at commissioner Roger Goodell’s discretion.
