Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins left Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a foot injury and his return is questionable.
Kirk Cousins injury: Redskins QB leaves game after hurting foot
And then there was Rex Grossman.
Cousins left the game in the second quarter after getting the start for Washington in place of Robert Griffin III, who is recovering from a torn ACL. After impressing when Griffin went down last season, Cousins has continued to shine in preseason action. In Week 1 of the preseason, Cousins went 6-of-7 passing for 52 yards and a touchdown.
He's not a flawless quarterback by any means, but Cousins is more than capable of filling in for Griffin should he miss any time this season. If Cousins is also injured for any period of time, Rex Grossman is the next quarterback in line to take snaps for the Redskins.
Here’s a look at Cousins’ injury.
UPDATE: Cousins is out with a sprained foot, the severity of which is not known at this time.
