Darrelle Revis injury: Buccaneers CB has full practice

Darrelle Revis is practicing full speed for the Buccaneers. It remains to be seen whether fans will see the veteran corner suit up during preseason.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Darrelle Revis is practicing fully for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and has suffered no setback in his recovery from a torn ACL, the team tweeted Tuesday. Revis also participated at full speed Monday, and he told the Tampa Bay Times that he still expects to be ready for the regular season opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 8.

Revis was still limited to individual drills and 7-on-7 work as of last week. The Bucs will need to determine next whether to allow the veteran cornerback to participate in the team's final two preseason games. The team will play the Miami Dolphins on the road this Saturday before closing preseason at home against the Washington Redskins on Aug. 29.

Revis tore the ACL in his left knee during his last season with the Jets. He was traded to the Buccaneers in exchange for a 2013 first-round NFL Draft pick and a conditional 2014 pick after spending six years in New York. The Bucs signed Revis to a six-year contract worth $96 million, with no money guaranteed.
