Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain is expected to start the regular season on the Reserve/PUP list, per The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson. This will make him ineligible for the first six weeks of the season, though the team will perform another MRI just to "double check."
Jameel McClain injury: Ravens LB headed for PUP list, per report
McClain is expected to start the season on the PUP list. There is still no timetable set for his return from a spinal cord contusion.

McClain started training camp on the Active/PUP list as he recovers from a spinal cord contusion suffered last December. There is still no timetable set for his return, and the Ravens aren't sure if he will play this season. McClain agreed to cut his salary in half, from $3 million to $1.5 million, and the team signed free agent Daryl Smith for veteran depth.
McClain recorded 78 tackles and a forced fumble in 13 games with the Ravens last season before the injury. Smith, Josh Bynes and rookie Arthur Brown are expected to compete for playing time at the middle linebacker spot.
